An edge tool used
to cut and shape wood
A carpenter's or cooper's tool, formed with a thin arching
blade set at right angles to the handle. It is used for
chipping or slicing away the surface of wood. Note:
A 'Flat' adze
is flat side to side, however, there is a slight curve from front to
back.

Barr's gutter adz is hand hammered
to the correct curve and sweep. The bit is then oil-quenched giving you
remarkable toughness. The tool is shipped with an ash handle ground to
fit. This is a beautiful adz to use. Gutter adz has a blade length of
7", overall length of 9" with approximately #6 sweep.
